ECOmersion Sets Itself Apart

ECOmersion kayak tours are a one of a kind kayak adventure in the St. Pete / Clearwater / Tampa region, and that's the reason we have been selected as TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice award recipient in 2021, 2022 and 2023! The founders of ECOmersion set off on a mission to provide everyone an opportunity to witness the natural beauty of Florida and actively participate in environmental preservation. Simply put, we connect you with nature!

Tampa Bay Nature

You will be able to witness the natural environment firsthand while kayaking through Weedon Island. Our experienced and knowledgeable tour guides will give you all of the information on the local natural environment you see while kayaking.

Environmental Cleanup

ECOmersion actively participates in environmental cleanups in Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg and donates a percentage of proceeds to non-profits focused on preserving the natural environment.

Kayaking Adventure

ECOmersion’s kayak tours do not require any prior experience, and are fun for anyone 8-85! We offer all of the instructions and highest quality equipment you will need to enjoy your kayak adventure.

Who You Might Encounter

Dolphins
While there is a wide variety of wildlife to be seen when outdoors and kayaking in Tampa Bay, among the favorites of tourists and locals alike are Bottlenose dolphins. These mammals are frequently seen swimming, jumping, and hunting while on tours and never fail to make visitors smile.
Manatees
Manatees also known as sea cows graze on a diet of seagrasses and other aquatic plants. These 'cow-like- mammals can spend up to eight hours a day grassing on sea grass, but don't let their slow nature fool you. Manatees are enchanting to see and visitors come from all over to spot these cows swimming in warm Florida waters.
White Pelican
If you come on a tour with us, or spend some time here in Pinellas county during the winter, you will likely see large flocks of White Pelicans in the area. These large birds are following their annual migration route from Canada and utilize preserves and protected areas as rest stops on their long voyage south.

Reviews

“ I had such a fantastic time kayaking and WILL be back. ECOmersion is the best and I highly recommend kayaking with them. I drove 6 hours from Georgia to kayak with them and was NOT disappointed. Erika, Jake, Rachel, and Natasha provided elite customer service skills that made my experience memorable. I saw a pod of dolphins jumping out of the water, stingrays, and beautiful and rare birds. November 2023
“ We had a fantastic experience. Our guide Jake was knowledgeable about marine life. This was my wife and my daughter's first time kayaking and they enjoyed the experience. We will definitely come back when we're in Florida again. December 2023
“ We had a fantastic experience from A to Z: the welcoming, organization, the tour itself, and mostly our guide Natasha were great. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining. She got plenty of photos for us and caught the dolphins jumping around my husband's kayak: magic!! Thanks, team! February 2022
“ We have lived in the area for 15 years and have never been to Weedon Preserve... We had a great time kayaking through the mangrove tunnels. Very unique experience. We took the tour as we had never been there and really never kayaked before. Natasha was a great guide and was very enthusiastic and accommodating. We definitely could sense the passion she had for nature and her job. We'll be back to the Preserve to not only walk the boardwalks but rent from ECOmersion. February 2022
“ Weedon Preserve on a holiday weekend without a reservation. The lovely staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Park at the Natural History Museum parking lot and it is a short walk to the kiosk right on the Bay with access to 4 mile mangrove route. Will come back for guided tour. February 2023
“ Awesome, Friendly & Affordable. Thank you guys for the experience, HIGHLY RECOMMEND. If I could give you guys 10 stars i totally would. December 2023
“ Located in Weedon Island Preserve, they rent paddle boards & kayaks. All of the equipment is maintained well and the staff were very friendly! They give you a map of the preserve so you don’t get lost... I enjoyed my time and suggest 2 hours as 1 hour definitely wasn’t long enough! October 2023
“ Will definitely be booking again! Family had an AWESOME time...can't think Noah & Matt enough for being fantastic guides! Dolphins, manatees, hanging at Archies Island and who can forget caught in a pop up rain storm while crossing the channel...that was super cool! March 2023
